[Previous entry: "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..."] [Main Index] [Next entry: "WHy don't you just help the boy out."] 04/12/2001 Entry: "Livermore woman fined, jailed in ham case" The 33-year-old pleaded no contest to battery charges after dispute over free meat ...Cheroti was standing in a Ralphs checkout line Sunday night when she got into an argument over whether she had qualified for a free ham -- given to customers who buy $50 worth of groceries. Cheroti contended she had spent $47 the day before and therefore deserved a free ham. Her total on Sunday was $48; the manager agreed to give her a ham. She then demanded hams for other family members, contending she had spent $400 at Ralphs during the past month. The manager refused and a scuffle ensued... The funny thing is my friend Katie knows this woman. Apparently she worked with her and just a few days before this happened she got fired.
Replies: 1 Comment The woman Rachael was a customer service rep at my work. She didn't show up to work on Monday so they decided to fire her on Tuesday. I got her job on Tuesday. I start in a month or so. We havn't heard anything from her yet. We found out that it is a national thing because of Easter and HAM!! They announced it all over radio and news shows. All of us at work are having a field day with this one. Posted by Katie @ 04/12/2001 10:36 PM PST
